How to Increase your Google Page Rank
What exactly is Google Page Rank?
Google Page Rank is the process by which Google determines the ultimate value of a web page. This value is determined by the total number, quality and relevance of pages (external) linking back to your specific page. Once Google has analyzed your page and made a determination, the page will be given a rating between zero and ten.
Each page on a website will have its own unique ranking, with the home page being most likely to have the highest rank out of all the pages in an entire site, because in most cases it has the highest number of pages linking into it.
Your site’s Google Page Rank should not be considered as the end all, ultimate determining factor of search engine optimization and link building success. Rather, it can be very useful to see exactly how your website stacks up against your competitors.
One thing to consider when reviewing a website’s ranking status; if a site has a Page Rank of zero, that can indicate that either the site has been penalized by the search engines, lacks inbound links, or is very new and has not yet been indexed/reviewed by Google.
Keeping these things in mind, it is not smart to obsess over your current Page Rank. Achieving a higher Page Rank should never be the primary goal of any marketing campaign. Page Rank is simply just an estimate of a site’s worth by Google and Google alone, and there are a multitude of factors besides Page Rank that can influence a website’s worth.
This is why it is possible for a website with a ranking of 4 to have a higher search engine ranking than a website with a ranking of 8.
So instead of letting your Google Page Rank number influence your decision making process, focus on more important things like improving your incoming links, site content, overall web design, accessibility, etc.
